Like our other tube skimmers, the Model 6V has advantages including:
  • The skimmer’s collector tube picks up the oil but not the water, which means your storage tanks are full of only oil.
  • Debris floating on the water will not stop or clog the skimmer because the oil collector tube is free to roam over and under any debris.
  • The movement of the tube across the surface draws the oil to the collector tube, thus enabling it to remove the “sheen” and pull oil from  corners of the tank.
  • Water fluctuation has no effect on oil recovery, because the oil collection tube freely floats on the water surface. Water levels can go up or down, with the collector tube following the water level.
  • Our oil skimmers are designed to operate completely up and away from the surface, with only the tube dropped onto the oily water to skim the oil. There are no pulleys or any mechanical devices in the water, which means installing or servicing our oil skimmer is safe and easy
