Winterization Options

The Model 6V Brill™ and Model 5H are designed to operate in all types of weather. However, for extreme outdoor conditions we recommend our Winterization option to ensure efficient oil recovery in temperatures as low as -20 F. (-29 C).

A 300W heat rod is available for the Model 6V Brill™ oil skimmer to maintain waste oil recovery in even the harshest conditions.

Heaters are mounted into the skimmer, spout and boom, while weatherproof junction boxes are secured to the boom at the skimmer point and swivel location. Insulation is added to the boom, complete with weatherproof cover.

The sludge pan can also be supplied with a 200W pan heater complete with heat pad, plate and insulation. The decanter, if used with the oil skimmer, can also be furnished with a 300W heat rod.

In addition, Oil Skimmers, Inc.'s Balanced and Cantilever mount systems can be completely winterized and pre-wired.

Our package consists of:

  • Skimmer heat rod 300W

  • Spout heater 200W

  • Boom heat tape 10W/foot

  • Thermostat

  • Insulation with protective cover

The Oil Skimmers, Inc Model 5H can also be equipped with a 200W pan heater.
