Vapor Hood Systems
The Oil Skimmers, Inc., unique Vapor Hood is an important option when oil must be removed from tanks, sumps, etc., which also contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Fully enclosed and gasketed, the Model 6V Vapor Hood will remove oil and prevent the VOCs from escaping. The Vapor Hood unit is designed so that the explosion-proof electric motor is isolated from the skimming area and the VOCs. A Vapor Hood is also applicable to less hazardous locations where an enclosed skimming unit is desirable, such as busy factory locations or outdoors in severe weather.
With the Vapor Hood construction, the oil skimmer is completely enclosed but easily accessible for inspection and maintenance through an inspection window. There is a built in decanter, which provides virtually water-free oil skimming.
Mountings can be specified to customer height requirements and the Vapor Hood can be constructed of materials suitable for use on all types of tanks. Adapter plates are also available for installation directly onto manway openings.
